What to look forward to in this year’s Mafbex
Foodies rejoice as one of the biggest food events in the country, Manila Food and Beverages Expo kicks off at the World Trade Center today for a four-day gastronomic adventure. The event will last until June 18 and the venue opens from 10 am to 8 pm.
Over 500 exhibitors have signed on to join this year’s event so expect to fill your taste buds with a wide array of flavors from international and local food selections on display.
The event seeks to showcase proudly Pinoy products. From regional delicacies to homegrown produce, Mafbex has partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry in making sure that the country’s best will be introduced to a wider market.

Mafbex 2017 shines the spotlight on local and international chefs who will share their secrets of their success to the audience. Among the guests are comedian Pokwang, who will release her own cookbook of signature recipes, television host and Chef Sharwin Tee, Chef Deejay Santos, Chef Michelle Adrillana, Chef Mitchie Sison, Chef Philip Goulding, and Chef Alain Rion of Sofitel.
Mafbex partners will be holding free seminar for those who want to embark in a career in the culinary industry as well as those who want to learn its potentials for earning.
Pick up techniques from renowned chefs and impress your family with your new cooking skills. Chef Boy Logro, Chef Dang Adrias, Chef Jackie & Maai Florendo, and Chef Xavier Btesh are some of the masters who have signed on to demonstrate their dishes at the event.
Young Hoteliers’ Exposition Interschool Competition.
It’s a battle for supremacy as schools send their best to compete in Black Box challenge and Cake Decorating Competition, Market Basket Challenge, and the Mocktail Punch Competition, one of the highlights of this year’s Mafbex.
National Bartending Championships.
The best bartenders in the country will amaze the audience and compete in making the best drinks for the Flairtending and Classic Bartending Competitions.
Mafbex Culinary Cup.
Amateur cooks battle it out in a competition inspired by MasterChef and prove that they can prepare the best dishes even without formal training.
A portion of the proceeds for the event will help the beneficiaries of ABS-CBN’s Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc.
