Ex-OFW thrives by planting papaya

Johnny Gatuz, a retired Oversease Filipino Worker (OFW) makes three times the amount he made when he was working by planting papayas.

The retired Arabia OFW used to make the equivalent of P10,000 when he was working in Saudi Arabia, but now enjoys over three times more after settling into planting green papayas.

He and his wife, a former OFW as well, have settled into a business of selling over 200 to 300 kilo of green papaya every two days, with each retailing at about P9 a kilo, the couple can makes as much as P2,400 every two days.

A novice at first, Johnny eventually found the habit and is now reaping the rewards of his hard work.
