Chef JJ Yulo enjoys revamped menu of Sarsa
Chef JJ Yulo, co-owner of Makansutra Hawkers in Megamall, visited fellow chef JP Anglo in Sarsa to try out their new menu with a couple of friends.
They started off with a tasting of Sarsa’s array of isaw, which includes pork, spicy chicken, and beef.
They followed up with Chinese hofan noodles, a dish Chef Yulo could not help but praise.
I've always thought that the one of the biggest strengths of #Sarsa is that no matter what new stuff they put out, across the board, once you taste it you immediately make a connection to it. It's new yet familiar, and it hits the right spots. These rice noodles, inspired by Chinese hofan noodles, is enhanced with kansi soy sauce, giving it a nice hit of acidity and a lot of character. Next time I'm eating this with their house XO sauce. 😉 Namit! @sarsakitchen #Sarsa2.0 #JustJonesingPH
The main of their meal, coconut grilled liempo with coconut sauce, can make “your knees go weak.”
This may not look like much to a foreigner, but to most Pinoys, the sight of grilled liempo can make your knees go weak and your mouth water. This coconut grilled liempo with coconut sauce, was love on a plate. I am proud – and sad at the same time – to say that I ate this sans rice, but really it begs for some. 🤤 This resonated with everyone, hands down. 💯 @sarsakitchen #Sarsa2.0 #JustJonesingPH
Finished with a helping of sinigang friend chicken and a cold beer, needless to say, Yulo thoroughly enjoyed his night.
