Filipino delicacies take center stage in Russia
Fresh mangoes and banana chips were among the Filipino products showcased at the 26th World Food Day in Russia.
The delegation from the Philippines headed by the Department of Agriculture, was among more than 50 countries participating in the food fair.
The food-tasting event took place at the embassy on Sept. 13, organized by mission officials led by Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos Sorreta.
“I think it’s quite a success. We have a very good group of agricultural producers. They are discussing possible deals for the importation into Russia of Philippine agricultural products,” said Sorreta.
Other popular export quality products also took some time in the limelight, like tuna, sardines, pineapple and banana, as well as other processed goods were showcased in the event.
After the positive reactions from the Russians, the DA hopes to one day see Filipino products penetrate the market in Moscow soon.
