Five food bazaars that are changing the nightlife game of millennials

With millennials now dominating the retail market, it is not a surprise that they are also driving the growth of food bazaar concepts in the Philippines— with markets now sprouting left and right within the capital’s central business districts.

Rather than a drill, partying at night when the weekend is approaching has now become just an option. These young professionals are now becoming more interested in jumping into #foodie bandwagon.

John Paul Chiongbian, the founder of Sugbu Mercado Food Bazaar Inc., said in an earlier report that the way millennials hang out today has changed the nightlife rhythm. This, as the food and lifestyle bazaar concept “has proven to be a hit in a social media driven market”.

In a Euromonitor category briefing called ‘street stalls/kiosks in the Philippines’, the organization also pointed out how food parks recorded a surge in popularity.

“This format appeals to both foodies and foodpreneurs. Customers looking to try new food concepts and bond with a group of family, friends and loved ones appreciate the ambiance and variety offered by the format, while starting entrepreneurs appreciate the incubator-like nature of the food parks in terms of testing novel concepts with minimal capital,” Patrick Adriel Aure cited in his column at The Manila Times.

And since Euromonitor forecasted that this food trend will continue to increase in number moving forward, Food Evolution has enumerated the top five weekend markets in Manila that you can try for now. And there’s no need to rush because they all close late.
