How food is changing the mood in social media

Social media can be very toxic but not all its contents are there to stress you out. For one, who gets stressed upon seeing appetizing photos of food circulating online? No one. Right?

As days go by, more and more netizens are joining the ‘foodie’ bandwagon in the social media and there’s this one witty Facebook page that has caught our attention.

Called ‘What’s your Ulam, Pare’ or WYUP, the group gained instant popularity for starting a social media trend on sharing ‘ulam’ or ‘dishes’ to its followers. Its concept is also very relaxed, with posts written in a witty manner, often calling their audience ‘pare’, ‘idol’, and ‘repa’.

Recently, we have seen a few celebrities who have already joined the WYUP clan, also posting photos of their ‘ulams’ on a particular day.

There’s also this Instagram page who is already pretty much famous when it comes to food. It is none other than “Masarap Ba?”

Basically, the concept of “Masarap Ba?” is to describe whether a certain dish or snack tastes good or not. Often times, it features food that are new in the market.

Like What’s your Ulam Pare, this social media account also uses witty captions that are so funny the caption itself makes the account worth following.
