Ladderized training on agricultural machinery operation concluded
Attended by 23 agricultural engineers from different Local Government Units (LGUs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and private sectors, the first batch of ladderized training on agricultural machinery operation has recently transpired as part of the government’s effort to promote mechanization in the country.
Participants have undergone different practical trainings and simulations of different rice machines such as tractors with implement, rice mill, flat bed dryer, hand tractor, rice thresher, power sprayer and knapsack sprayer from MOSCAT Farm, Claveria, Misamis Oreintal.
With the help of the assessment loading personnel, participants were able to practice and simulate different rice machinery operation.
Each participant was also trained in pre and post operation safety check and the wearing of Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) policies, thus, giving them their own working boots, industrial dust mask, sweatshirt, and industrial mask helped them complete the PPE.
Hard hats and raincoats were also provided during the training proper.
Meanwhile, the participants have also visited Vicente Fabela Rice and Corn Mill located at Poblacion, Claveria, Misamis Oriental and New Ilocos Irrigators Association Inc. at Malaybalay City, Bukidnon to observe actual operation of rice mill and flatbed dryer.
The participants have also operated rice combine harvester, rice transplanter and hand tractor at Valencia City with the help of the City Agriculture Office (CAO).
