Manila Water signs retail electricity supply agreement with AC Energy

Manila Water and AC Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ayala Corporation, recently entered into a retail electricity supply agreement, which would provide the water utility company the most value through savings on power consumption costs.

The agreement covers the two-year supply of electricity to five Manila Water facilities currently enrolled under Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA).

These are the Balara Pumping Station, San Juan Pumping Station, Kingsville Pumping Station, Siruna Pumping Station, and Fort Bonifacio Pumping Station. The said facilities have an aggregate monthly demand of 8.5 megawatts (MW).

Manila Water President and CEO Ferdinand Dela Cruz said the company is pleased with the results where it procured the best offer among a host of excellent Retail Electricity Supply Providers.

“Our customers will benefit from lower power cost and ensures continuous power supply to five of Manila Water’s largest facilities for the next two years. This contract will allow us to run our facilities efficiently and ultimately, serve our water and used water customers well,” Dela Cruz said in a statement today.
