NFA commemorates 45th Founding Anniversary
State-run grains agency National Food Authority (NFA) will celebrate its 45th founding anniversary tomorrow, with the agency’s current administrator Jason Aquino set to the lead NFA officials and employees in commemorating the special day with various activities to be held at the National Meat Inspection Services Auditorium in Visayas Avenue, Quezon City.
With this year’s theme “Pagkaing Ligtas at Sapat Adhikain Nating Lahat”, the celebration caps the week-long observance of the Grains Industry Week, highlighted by the awarding of NFA’s best stakeholders last week.
The NFA was created as the National Grains Authority on September 26, 1972 by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 4 to promote the integrated growth and development of the grains industry. It was reconstituted as the NFA on January 14, 1981 widening its scope of coverage to include non-grains commodities.
A thanksgiving mass to be officiated by Rev. Father Gerry Orbos will officially commence tomorrow’s simple and austere anniversary celebration.
The morning program will highlight the recognition of officials and employees nationwide who have demonstrated exemplary performance and notable accomplishments and contributions under the food agency’s Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE).
The employees who have served the agency for the last 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years will also receive their loyalty awards, while selected employees will showcase their skills and talents during the afternoon program.
