Soldiers, Policemen, Marine feast on chicken in Marawi
Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said soldiers, marines and policemen battling the terrorists in Marawi City was able to enjoy a festive weekend as they received the first shipment of Halal chicken from Davao.
Over the weekend, a total of 2,459.3 kilograms or 51 sacks of whole dressed chicken were particularly delivered to Campo Ranao in Marawi City.
While the initial shipment was donated by Jonathan Suy of Ana’s Breeder Farm, Piñol said the next shipment will already be paid for by the government through the Department of Agriculture (DA).
“The supply of chicken will continue for as long as the fighting men are still in the battle field not only to boost their morale but mainly to provide them more nutritious food,” Piñol said.
The first shipment was turned over to Lt. Col. Alexander S. Regenio, Head Logistics Suport Group/Task Force Ayuda.
Designated personnel from the Army, Marines and PNP combatants claimed their allocations by Unit.
A total of 12-tons of Halal chicken was shipped to Cagayaan de Oro City from Ana’s Breeder Farm in Davao City last Friday.
This was kept in a cold storage facility in Cagayan de Oro and will be released weekly to the fighting men and women in the field.
