‘Stranger Things’ inspired pop-up to close after Netflix asks them to shut down
Organizers of the Stranger Things bar pop-up announced that they were closing shop after Netflix’s legal team sent them a letter requesting them to shut down operations.
The pop-up will close on October 1. The pop-up gets lines that span ages most nights, with their studio quality props and show-inspired cocktails.
But the pop-up never got a licensing deal, which led to Netflix filing a complaint on the grounds of the intellectual property.
The letter demands owners Danny and Doug Marks to end the pop-up on October 1 and to ask Netflix for permission next time they try something similar.
“We love our fans more than anything, but you should know that the demogorgon is not always as forgiving. So please don’t make us call your mom,” the letter read.
