Agri-Trade Fair brings more opportunities to Caviteños

Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol said that the recently concluded Cavite Province Agri-Trade Fair 2017 is aligned with the goal of the Department of Agriculture (DA) to bring the government closer to the farmers and fishermen at the countryside.

With the theme,” Produktong Pang-agrikultura, Mura’t Masustansya para sa Malusog na Masa,” the trade fair gave an opportunity to different cities and municipalities and DA-Cavite Agricultural Research and Experiment Station (CARES) to showcase various agricultural products and the latest innovations in agricultural and fishery technology.

Also, the Piñol addressed the different issues and concerns of farmers and fisherfolk by giving assurance to the farmers’ request to support food production and infrastructure projects specifically farm machinery and farm-to-market roads (FMR) under the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP).

He also appealed to Caviteños to help him improve the farming industry as well as taking more comprehensive measures to alleviate the lives of the farmers in the province and in the country in general.

Furthermore, DA Region IV CALABARZON led by Regional Executive Director Arnel V. de Mesa, gave a total of P12.4 million agricultural assistance to the farmers and fisherfolk in the said province such as four-wheel tractors, multiplier farms, pumps and engines for shallow tube well (STW), multi-purpose shredders, cassava granulators, tilling machines, seedlings, and fertilizers, among others.
