Gardenia diversifies PH portfolio, brings chocolate spread brand here
In a bid to penetrate a larger market share in the country’s food business, Gardenia Bakeries has further diversified its local product portfolio, bringing here its chocolate spread brand called Delicia.
“Delicia’s success has inspired us to bring it here in the Philippines and give more chocolate spread options that Filipinos can enjoy with Gardenia breads,” Gardenia president Jun Umali said in a statement.
According to him, Delicia chocolate spread was successfully launched in Malaysia in 2015 by Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn Bhd (GBKL).
“Breads and spreads are complementary products. Our wide array of bread choices and improvement in the distribution hold the potential to assist the growth of competitively priced, tasty and quality bread spreads,” Umali said.
“We are gradually expanding our business. Today, we are able to give consumers the highest level of product satisfaction in the Philippine bakery industry. In the coming months, Filipinos can look forward to new and exciting products which are always in line with Gardenia’s consumer-oriented vision,” he added.
Umali said the company is confident that Delicia chocolate spread will be accepted well by Filipinos the way they have patronized Gardenia loaf bread. After all, Gardenia holds more than 60 percent market share in the Philippines in terms of packaged bread category.
