Gov’t leads 14th National Organic Agriculture Congress
The government has led the 14th National Organic Agriculture Congress at the Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro, which aims to promote technologies and ways to further incorporate organic agriculture into the daily lives of Filipinos, especially farmers.
Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol graced the event together with Undersecretary and Alternate chair to National Organic Agriculture Board Bernadette Puyat and National Program Coordinator for National Organic Agriculture Program Engr. Christopher Morales.
The three-day event, which ended yesterday, was themed “Organic Agriculture: A SMART Culture”.
The 14th NOAC pushed for the improvement and promoting organic agriculture in a Science based, Market-oriented, Adaptive, Responsive, and Transformative (SMART) way.
The event particularly gathered various stakeholders, organic farmers and practitioners, as well as supporters of Organic Agriculture in the aim of building better strategies that will improve further the implementation of the Organic Agriculture Program in the Philippines.
