Jessica Alba talks about ill effects processed foods in Health Hacks video
Jessica Alba is speaking out about the negative impacts of processed foods and is using her celebrity to highlight the unhealthy content of chemically processed foods.
The actress said in the video that chemically processed food often refer to food that are made completely out of chemicals and contain elements like flame retardants and anti-freeze which are obviously very harmful to the body.
“Everyone’s favorite ingredient is also one those giant dangers. In the US, the average person consumes an average of 20 teaspoons of sugar a day in processed food alone,” she said.
The actress expressed alarm that the amount does not even cover for the Americans’ regular use of sugar.
Jessica lamented that sugar is one of the prime culprits in diseases like obesity, diabetes, heartburn and cancer. She said that the food industry isn’t very up front when it comes to the sugar content of their products.
Highly addictive and can lead to overeating because it stimulates the release of the happy hormone dopamine. And this feeling often pushes people to have more until they end up sick or obese.
She instead urged people to go for the healthier alternative like whole foods that are packed in ingredients instead of chemicals and preservatives and called on them to make wise choices when it comes to the food they eat. (ANGEL ONG)
