PH opens this year’s National World Food Day
The government has opened today the National World Food Day 2017, which is celebrated every year around the world every October in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945.
The day is celebrated widely by many other organizations concerned with food security, including the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
The theme for this year’s celebration would be: “Change the future of migration. Invest in food security and rural development.”
In a simple opening ceremony, the officials and employees of the Department of Agriculture (DA) gathered this morning at the DA grounds, Elliptical Rd., Diliman, Quezon City.
