Pinsec Frito can beat the usual chicken lollipops

Sarangani Bay, Philippines’ largest processor and exporter of premium quality bangus and other processed seafood products, said there is one dish that can be a great alternative to the usual chicken lollipops.

“When it comes to bite-size snacks, pinsec frito is a snack that you can lean on. The mixture of bangus, cream cheese, red pimientos, and hot sauce all wrapped in wonton wrapper is a ball of chewy flavor,” Sarangani Bay said.

Here’s how to make Sarangani Bay’s Pinsec Frito With Onion Dip

Ingredients

1-320 g Sarangani Bay Smoked Deboned Milkfish, skin removed and meat flaked

½ cup cream cheese

½ cup chopped red pimiento

1 teaspoon hot sauce

1 pack wonton wrapper

2 cups cooking oil

Onion Dip

1 cup mayonnaise

¼ cup sour cream

½ cup chopped spring onion

1 teaspoon lemon juice

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

Procedure

1. In a clean bowl, combine flaked smoked fish, cream cheese, chopped red pimientos and hot sauce. Mix well.

2. Place a teaspoon of filling towards the center of the wonton wrapper. Fold to form a triangle. Seal edges with a small amount of water. Repeat until filling is all used up.

For the dip

1. Mix all ingredients. Chill until ready to use.

2. Heat cooking oil in a fry pan. Fry filled wontons a few at a time. When golden and crisp, remove from the pan. Drain in paper towel. Serve immediately with the onion dip.
