DA to launch ‘KISS ME’ program
Still part of its efforts to provide a venue for farmers and consumers to connect directly, the Department of Agriculture (DA) is set to launch next month the “Karne, Isda Supply Strategy Para sa Masa at Ekonomiya” or KISS ME program at Fort Bonifacio.
Part of its farmers and fishers outlet called “TienDA Para Sa Mga Bayani”, the DA goes to the Army Headquarters Compound in Fort Bonifacio again where its Agribusiness and Marketing Division will launch an added innovation called the KISS ME program.
KISS ME stands for Karne, Isda Supply Suporta sa Masa at Ekonomiya and it aims to open neighborhood outlets selling dressed chicken and poultry products, meat and fish, which would come directly from the farmers and fisher folks.
Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said earlier that a Japanese company, Sanden Philippines, has committed his support for the scheme by initially lending out chillers, freezers, cold storage and refrigerated truck vans.
As directed personally by President Rodrigo Duterte, disabled and wounded soldiers will be given the chance to manage the program to provide them livelihood.
