PCA chief says Yolanda Fund was properly utilized
After the Commission on Audit (COA) alleged that Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) failed to utilize the rehabilitation funds meant for Yolanda rehabilitation, PCA chief Romulo J. dela Rosa was quick to defend his agency, saying that the P2.45-billion fund under the Yolanda Recovery and Rehabilitation Program (YRRP) has already been fully accounted for.
Dela Rosa, who just became PCA administrator four months ago, said in a report at Manila Bulletin that the budget disbursement from Yolanda rehabilitation fund was “properly utilized and fully accounted for”.
“I should just say ‘Oh, what has happened before my time I should just blame the previous administrators for it.’ But I don’t think that is fair to PCA,” Dela Rosa said, referring to his somewhat delayed reaction to COA’s claims.
He said that as of now, the agency had so far disbursed P1.9 billion out of the fund.
According to him, PCA already issued an explanation to COA regarding the budget utilization for Yolanda rehabilitation program.
