Pepsi releases limited edition Salted Caramel flavor, divides netizens
Even major brands are constantly keeping themselves on their toes in coming up with new and innovative flavors to deliver to their markets. Case in point: Jollibee’s Strawberry Fries.
But the fastfood giant isn’t the only one experimenting with flavors in the hopes on hitting the mark for the next big thing in food.
Pepsi recently announced the limited edition release of a Salted Caramel Pepsi which hit the shelves in the US this month. Americans who have tried the flavor remain on the fence about whether they have become fans of the new beverage or if they would choose to pass it up on the shelves.
Some argue that the dessert flavor in caramel doesn’t blend well as an actual beverage even as PepsiCo announced that the new flavor actually contains less sugar than the original version of the soda. Still, there were some who liked Pepsi’s flavor experiment.

Even celebrity blogger Perez Hilton had something to say about it.

In its announcement, PepsiCo described the Salted Caramel Pepsi “blends the refreshing taste of cola with a delicious caramel finish.” We’ll just have to see if and when it reaches our shores in the Philippines. (ANGEL ONG)
