If you’re #HANGRYaboutHUNGER, its time to help
If you’re #HANGRYaboutHUNGER, there’s a way you can help feed street children, kids in conflict ridden areas and public schools.
KusinangKalinga is a project that aims to feed one million kids in a bid address hunger and malnutrition in poverty stricken areas.
Overall, the organization has set up 50 central community kitchens nationwide which seeks to feed 100,000 schoolchildren this year. The volunteers come up with a healthy and delicious menu to get kids to eat right and enjoy their meals as well.
In a recent stint volunteering stint, celebrity baker Bettina Carlos said that she was amazed by the dedication of the volunteers to the cause, waking up at the crack of dawn to prepare the meals, chopping the vegetables finally to make sure the kids don’t pick it out of their food. She also said that the volunteers’ day does not end with serving the food because they have wash all of the food containers to be used the next day.
