DAR distributes land titles to 77 farmers in Davao del Sur
Tenants no more! 77 farmers in a Davao del Sur village recently accepted from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) their much deserved land titles.
A statement showed that PARPO II of Davao del Sur finally distributed the certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) to the 77 farmers that covered around 48 hectares of lands.
The distributed farmlands were part of the Dominador Magabilen Estate in the area.
During the turnover ceremony, DAR Undersecretary Karlo Bello reiterated the administration’s thrust of issuing individual titles to the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries.
He also lauded the DAR in Davao region and Davao del Sur for the achievements they gained in implementing the agrarian reform program of the government during the year.
For his part, Leomides Villareal of DAR Public Assistance and Media Relations Service encouraged the 77 farmers to develop the lands they can now call their own.
“These are your farmlands now. Develop and make these lands productive to augment our income to support our families especially our children,” Villareal emphasized.
