Fruits are generally more expensive last week
Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said there were more price increases than declines for fruits in several areas in the country.
“Selected regional centers exhibit varying price adjustments in fruits,” PSA said in its latest price update for December.
For last week, the price per kilogram of banana (lakatan) increased by P10 in both Legaspi City and Naga City.
A kilogram of banana (latundan) also went up by P10 in San Fernando City, while it was cheaper by P5 in Cebu City.
Price mark-ups of calamansi, on the other hand, ranged from P6 to P20 per kilogram in four regonal centers this week.
The price per kilogram of mango (carabao) gained by P40 in National Capital Region; by P20 in both Cebu City and Zamboanga City; and by P10 in Tuguegarao City. However, it went down by P30 in San Fernando City (Region 1); by P20 in Legaspi City; and by P5 in Iloilo City.
Meanwhile, PSA said price of other basic commodities remain at their previous week’s level.
