BFAR to launch ‘fish-yalan’
The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources is set to launch this week the farm tourism project called “Fish-Yalan: Pangisdaan at Pasyalan All-in-One”.
Fish-Yalan is an innovative approach wherein an ordinary government fisheries technology center will be transformed and utilized into an alternative tourist destination with the intention of promoting environmental protection on sustainable management and conservation of fisheries.
The project offers a wide–array of learning interactions by giving a quick glimpse on the technological developments made by the bureau in a memorable and understandable way.
Alongside, the DA-BFAR will also introduce the Philippine Seafood Advertisement campaign with the catchphrase, “Discover Philippine Seafood: From Our Seas to your Plate.”
The Ad campaign was designed to inspire a variety of options for people who simply seek to satisfy their cravings for a seafood treat or invest in fisheries-based business in the Philippines.
Key personalities during the launch include Tourism Secretary Wanda Corazon Teo, Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol, and BFAR National Director Commodore Eduardo B. Gongona PCG (Ret.)
