DA delivers seeds to Typhoon Vinta farmer-victims
The Department of Agriculture is set to deliver 2,500 bags of seeds intended for farmers in the Eastern Visayas whose produce have been damaged by Typhoon Vinta.
Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol said the new shipment of seeds which came from Luzon and loaded to a vessel in the Subic Port is intended for the provinces of Samar, Leyte and Biliran.
“BFAR (Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatuc Resources) vessels will continue to sail until all relief and rehabilitation supplies to the typhoon devastated areas are delivered,” the official said in a Facebook post.
BFAR is also set to deliver this week 20 units of fiberglass fishing boats to fishermen in Zamboanga del Norte.
Meanwhile, 15 other units will be delivered next week. This will fulfill the agency’s commitment to provide 35 units to the area.
