NFA assures of stable rice prices amid TRAIN
The National Food Authority (NFA) administrator gave an assurance that it will keep prices of rice as they are today despite the implementation of the first package of the tax reform law under which fuel prices are expected to rise.
The government prescribed price for the regular milled variety at P27/kilogram (kg)and P32/kg for the well-milled variety, will still stand, the state-grains agency said in a statement.
The agency is also set to conduct a cost analysis of any impact of the new tax law on the price of rice.
“As watchdog of national food security, the NFA’s role is to make rice, our basic staple, available, accessible and affordable in any part of the country at all times,” NFA Administrator Jason Aquino was quoted in a statement.
