NFA warns against fake rice imports
The National Food Authority (NFA) has cautioned against individuals or entities using fake rice import permits (IPs)
The state-run grains agency’s statement comes on the heels of a report that some unscrupulous individuals or parties are selling permits allegedly issued by the NFA under the 2017 minimum access volume (MAV) or the private-sector-led rice import scheme.
Last month, the Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) asked the NFA to verify the veracity of three Import Permits (IPs) allegedly issued to PITC by the grains agency, which they claim as fake or fabricated.
Upon verification, the NFA found that the alleged IPs were indeed spurious and the matter was subjected to investigation.
