Philpost prints limited edition Mama Sita commemorative stamps
Mama Sita, a renowned Philippine icon for food, will be featured in Philpost’s latest line of commemorative stamps for the 100 th centenary of her birth.
Mama Sita or Teresita Reyes is a familiar face among Philippine households who patronize her sauces and mixes founded on traditional Filipino food. The Philpost decided to honor the centenary of her birth as a homage to her dedication and love for Filipino food and culture which has inspired millions to share the same passion.
The stamp will bear the slogan “Kababayan, Ina, Kusinera” which pays tribute to her contributions to Philippine culture and society.
“We are proud to be part of this important milestone in paying tribute to “Mama Sita’s birth centenary” and her untiring effort and dedication of keeping the flavors of Filipino Food one of the world’s best”, Postmaster General Joel Otarra said in Philpost’s official press release.
The commemorative stamps designed by Ian Darren Aycocho and Cristian Molina, will be available as a limited edition item and will cost P12 per stamp. There will only be 80,000 copies in print.
