Piñol, to discuss FMR planning in North Cotabato towns
Agriculture Scretary Emmanuel Piñol is set to meet next week local chief executives from at least nine towns in North Cotabato to discuss proposals for the construction of farm-to-market roads (FMRs) in their areas.
“We are already starting to lay down our budget for 2019,” said Piñol in a news report, adding that he will engage the local mayors in a planning-workshop so they would know how much budget is needed to complete the concreting of these roads, including bridges, before President Duterte steps down in 2022.
The completion of FMRs is among DA’s priorities to help farmers cope with the high cost of fuel when transporting goods and products from their farms to the town center.
“We need the lists in order to include them in our programs of work,” he stressed.
