Canada’s The Jeep eyes to make first trip to Philippines
Jaytee, a Filipino nurse, who owns the first and award-winning Filipino food truck in Canada is eyeing to bring his business here in his homeland.
Opened in May 2015, the Jeep ni JayTee is a Filipino food truck that specializes in Filipino street food mixed with a North American touch.
The food truck’s best seller is the sisig putin or crispy fries with cheese curds, gravy, and sometimes chives or chicharon, or any other toppings the customer prefers.
Another best seller is the bistek shawarma where, instead of the original beef, Bistek Tagalog is used for the shawarma.
After his success in the foreign land, Jaytee is dreaming to soon expand his business not only in Canada but also in the Philippines.
His business has been recognized as both the Best Food Truck and Most Popular Food Truck in 2016 and 2017 by the Filipino-Canadian Magazine.
Jaytee was also acclaimed as Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016 by the Filipino Champions of Canada, and as one of the Filipino Champions of Canada in 2016.
