Harbour City Shopping Mall is now hosting its annual mega event “Chocolate Trail” until February 25. This year, the company has collaborated with Japanese Miniature Artist Tatsuya Tanaka for hosting “mini CHOCOllection” Miniature Exhibition.
Harbour City particularly collaborated with famous Japanese Miniature Artist Tatsuya Tanaka, taking “mini CHOCOllection” as a theme to transform Atrium II, Gateway Arcade into a “Chocolate MINI Hong Kong”.
Tatsuya Tanaka will display 32 miniature art pieces including 10 brand-new art pieces for the 32-day event. Art pieces include the theme of Valentine’s Day, Chinese New Year’s Eve, Chinese New Year’s Day, 7th Day of Chinese New Year (Renri) etc.
This is the first exhibition that Tatsuya Tanaka curated with a specific theme which includes Hong Kong elements such as: Dai Pai Dong, HK Old Tenements and HK Style Food Truck to create or redesign his art pieces.
All of these art pieces are exclusive for this exhibition and won’t be found in other touring exhibitions. The catch is that “the exhibition is free and open to the public”.
By donating HK$40, customers can become one of the miniature characters and take photos in the chocolate scene prepared by Tatsuya Tanaka in “CHOCOllection Studio”. Photos will be printed on CHOCOllection Stickers instantly and will be shown in the “Chocolate MINI Hong Kong”.
All proceeds will be donated to Hong Kong Blood Cancer Foundation after cost deduction.
Meanwhile, to harmonize with the Chocolate Trail, ‘The Sound of Chocolate’ Art Exhibition presents Vinyl Records created by French Australian artist Julia Drouhin that are made of chocolate.
This is her first time to put traditional Cantonese pop songs into her art pieces.
