Marcventures distributes food, coffee, meals to Basyang victims
Marcventures Mining and Development Corporation (MMDC) continues to work closely with the local government units of Carrascal and Cantilan, Surigao del Sur in providing relief goods to victims of Typhoon Basyang in these two towns even as the company’s efforts to clear the roads of debris from landslides and heavy flooding are ongoing.
MMDC had so far distributed a total of nearly 6,600 relief packs and over 560 sacks of rice to 6,000 families.
MMDC employees also prepared meals for two nights to over 1,000 evacuees temporarily sheltered in the Carrascal gymnasium.
Apart from the rice, coffee, sardines, and noodles contained in the relief packs, MMDC also distributed powdered milk boxes, hygiene kits, clothes, pillows, blankets, and mats.
For its employees affected by Basyang, MMDC has extended financial assistance to support their recovery from the calamity.
