DAR disburses aid to 1,217 farmers in Isabela
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) said it recently distributed support projects worth P2.46 million to two agrarian reform beneficiary organizations (ARBOs) in Isabela to help them improve their production and the quality of their farm business enterprises.
With 1,217 members, ARBOs cover areas in the towns of Mallig and San Guillermo in Isabela province.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Alfredo B. Lorenzo Jr. said the DAR delivered to the ARB Crop Growers Association of San Guillermo town two cacao roasters worth P1.4 million and three cacao grinders worth P690,000.
Lorenzo said the Department also awarded to Malaya Development Cooperative a soft serve ice cream maker worth P249,000 and a bottle filling machine worth P149,000.
ARB Crop Growers Association Manager Ferdinand Sanchez lauded DAR for providing the much-needed machineries, which could help increase the volume of their cacao production by ten folds.
“The processing of our products was previously done manually. We usually get more or less P300 weekly income on our production. The machineries will certainly be of great help,” Sanchez said.
