KC leads WFP mission to feed children of Marawi
Its been 10 years since KC Concepcion was named an ambassador for UN’s World Food Programme and it has taken the actress, host and endorser to many different parts of the world to fulfill her mission.
However, KC’s recent trip to war-torn Marawi was one of the most memorable journeys she went to. The WFP Ambassadress led her team in feeding primary school children and their teachers chicken malunggay-monggo, meatball in a squash and rice porridge and lauded the strong spirit of the people in Marawi.
She also thanked her friends who gamely answered her call and lent their hands to make the mission successful.
“It will take 5-10 years to rehabilitate Marawi… Keep them in your minds & hearts- we can all do something to help them rise above & continue rebuilding their homes, lives & overall well-being,” she said. (ANGEL ONG)
(13 March 2018) After 10 years of going on our UN @worldfoodprogramme_official missions alone, I am finally able to invite friends to come with me & my team on the WFP mission field… Big, heartfelt thanks to my dear friend, renowned Chef Tony Boy Escalante (of @antoniostagaytay @balaydako @breakfastatantonios) for being so game to join us on the field!!! 🌹 Spécial thanks also to the talented @curatedbyrob who captured wonderful moments to remember & shared his time with us too. The beautiful people of Marawi will never forget this heartwarming & comforting experience with you… Neither will I. 🍲✨💙 Chicken Malunggay-Monggo (Moringa-Mungbean) Meatballs in a Squash & Rice Porridge were served to primary school kids & their teachers, who happen to be brave survivors of the Marawi siege. 😌 It will take 5-10 years to rehabilitate Marawi… Keep them in your minds & hearts- we can all do something to help them rise above & continue rebuilding their homes, lives & overall well-being. xx, K. || Swipe!
