Pilmico sets P9B for three-year digital integration plan
Pilmico Foods Corp., the Aboitiz Group’s food and agribusiness unit, said it will shell out P9 billion for its three-year expansion plan, part of which is the establishment of a meat fabrication plant that is integrated digitally across the supply chain.
The meat fabrication facility is designed to cut carcasses into standard wholesale and retail cuts and will have a capacity of cutting 120 heads per hour.
Sabin Aboitiz, Pilmico president and chief executive officer, said the new plant to be built will serve the firm’s digital strategy in linking fresh farm produce to the wet markets.
On its feed mills, Sabin said the firm eyes boosting the capacity of its local mills and the one in Vietnam by another 20 tons per hour (TPH) each. It has two local mills in Tarlac and Iligan City which each has a capacity of 60 TPH while its in Vietnam-base mill is at 40 TPH.
