Prices of basic goods remain stable, says DTI
Despite fears of TRAIN law pushing prices higher, the prices of basic goods and commodities have so far remained stable, according to Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez.
Lopez, as cited in a report, said that the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) conducted a nationwide survey in January to check how prices have moved since the tax reform was implemented.
As a result, he said that prices of basic goods and commodities, including food, did not exhibit extraordinary changes.
However, the result is yet to incorporate the latest report on inflation for the month of February, which grew faster than expected.
