SAAD distributes interventions via corn production project
The Department of Agriculture’s (DA) Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) recently distributed livelihood interventions in Zamboanga Del Norte, a statement showed.
To be specific, as much as 44 SAAD program farmer-beneficiaries from Barangay Teresita, Municipality of Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte received farm inputs under the program’s Corn Production Project.
The inputs that the farmers were able to take home were comprised of 11 bags of Open Pollinated Variety (OPV) white corn and complete fertilizer, as well as urea fertilizers at 44 bags each.
Aside from the said barangay, six more municipalities are also set to receive the same inputs: Mutia, Sergio Osmeña, Sindangan, and Tampilisan with one barangay each; Godod, with two barangays; and Leon Postigo, with three barangays.
The activity was supported by the Provincial Agriculturist, Celsa Gayapa, and her staff – Richard Baliling, Aggie Sumog, and Arlene Taan; and SAAD-Zamboanga del Norte staff – Area Coordinator (AC) Irish Jane Mallo and Information Technologist (IT) Jeffrey Nigos.
