745 farmers in Kalinga receive land titles
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) said a total of 745 farmer-beneficiaries have been awarded with Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) in Tabuk City, Kalinga.
The agricultural lands are located in the Municipalities of Balbalan, Lubuagan, Pasil, Pinukpuk, Rizal, Tabuk, and Tinglayan, in this Province.
Agrarian Reform Secretary John Rualo Castriciones, who led the CLOA Distribution, said that the issuance of titles shows that the government recognizes the role of farmers as true heroes of the country.
“Where before they were left out by the government, the President will do its best to make them feel loved by providing the needed production loans, farm machineries, seeds, irrigation, farm-to-market roads, and other support services that would enhance their economic activities that would ultimately integrate their economic well-being into the mainstream of society,” he said.
The distribution was also graced by DAR Undersecretary Karlo Bello of Field Operations Office (FOO), who apologized to the beneficiaries for the long wait prior to CLOA distribution.
The delays, Bello pointed out, were due to the long processes of land titling.
As of now, he said that DAR is doing its best to issue titles to actual tillers to give them absolute control over their basic resource and in the process propel progress in the countryside.
