DA brings TienDA in Cordillera
Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said that bananas from Cotabato Province and fresh fish from Davao del Sur will be among the agriculture and fisheries products that will be sold at farm gate prices during the TienDA sa Cordillera on April 27 to 28.
To be specific, about 10 metric tons of fresh Lacatan Bananas from Kidapawan City and Bangus, Kitang and Danggit from the fish cages of Malalag, Davao del Sur will be available during the two-day TienDA.
The two-day ‘TienDA sa Cordillera’ will be held at the BAPTC Vegetable Trading Center in the Benguet State University Campus in La Trinidad, Benguet.
The event will coincide with the National Workshop of all key agencies under the Department of Agriculture as it prepares for the implementation of major policy shifts, including the nationwide implementation of the Easy Access Financing.
Piñol said that agricultural and fisheries trading between the Cordillera and the Southern Philippines is expected to be boosted by the staging of the TienDA.
The TienDA is an advocacy of the DA that is meant to link farmers and fishermen with consumers to bring down the cost of food commodities in the market.
