DAR distributes land titles to farmers in Eastern Samar
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has recently facilitated the release of certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) to 320 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) from various towns in Eastern Samar province.
“You are now landowners,” said DAR Undersecretary Karlo S. Bello of Field Operations Office (FOO) as he asked the ARBs not to sell or lease their newly acquired lands.
Bello said President Rodrigo Duterte has mandated the DAR to fast-track the processing and release of CLOAs and the provision of support programs and services to the ARBs.
He then thanked the DAR personnel of region VIII and Eastern Samar for the release of the CLOAs to the farmers.
DAR distributed a total 614.6 hectares of agricultural land in Eastern Samar.
Data provided by DAR Region VIII showed that of the total land areas distributed, 354.3 hectares are located in the municipality of San Julian; 76.5 hectares in Maydolong; 33.8 hectares in Dolores; 32.3 hectares in Lawaan; 27.7 hectares in Giporlos; 22.8 hectares in Salcedo; 19.2 hectares in Quinapondan; 19 hectares in Balangiga; 18.7 hectares in Can-avid; 6.4 hectares in Borongan; and 3.9 hectares in Balangkayan.
