Explosive lasagna leaves woman ‘mentally’ scarred
An Ilinois woman has filed a $50,000 lawsuit against Italian restaurant Osteria Ottimo Ristorante after her order of lasagna exploded to her face, leaving her scarred mentally.
This week, Theresa Thomas proceeded to sue the Italian resto before the Cook County Circuit Court after the incident on December 7 last year, a report showed.
Thomas alleged that a piping hot marina sauce squirted out when she pierced the tower of layered lasagna with a fork.
The plaintiff’s lawyer David Petrich said that the “explosive” sauce scalded the Thomas’ skin and left a massive burn on her left hand, which caused her to “suffer great physical pain and mental anguish.”
Osteria Ottimo Ristorante have yet to respond about the case.
