Mum faces backlash after feeding child with wasabi
For parents, letting your kid to try sour or spicy foods at a very early age may seem amusing and funny. But it was a different case for the mother of a young girl named Rosie, who was made to eat wasabi.
In a Youtube video, which recently went viral, young Rosie can be heard rejecting her mum’s insistent offer to eat wasabi.
But despite being rejected twice by the youngster, the mother still let her try the food, prompting the little kid to call for “help” in an apparent reaction to the spicy food.
Some of the viewers said that the child’s reaction was “adorable” and cute, saying that trying new food items is normal. They even compared it to eating sour foods like lemons for the first time.
But for majority of the people who have watched the video said that feeding the kid with Wasabi at a very young age is a form of child abuse, with the mum obviously laughing at her daughter’s torment.
According to Parenting Healthy Babies, a small amount of wasabi is harmless, and even beneficial, as wasabi is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and aid in digestion.
Introduction to various flavors, the studies showed, also discourage picky eaters among children.
Rosie may seem displeased with Wasabi, but it is unlikely that she will suffer any lasting effect from her “horrible” experience.
