Pasta diet makes you lose weight, study says
Pasta la vista, baby fats! You can now kiss those fats away just by shifting to low glycemic index diet, researchers said in a latest study, which focuses on the “magical” powers of pasta.
A new study, which was cited in Delish report, suggests that a good ol’ bowl of pasta may actually be a healthier option and can help you lose all the unnecessary weight.
During the span of 12 weeks, some 2, 500 study participants were asked to follow a low glycemic index diet – eating only pasta instead of other carbs. They were also required to eat half a cup or single serving of pasta.
Scientists and researchers were surprised to see the result from the group – with participant losing an average of a little over one pound.
With people abstaining from carbs and shifting to more protein rich diet to curb weight gain, the study results is a welcome development.
Researchers, however, were quick to point out pasta diet alone will not be an effective regime and will still require conscious decision by individuals with regard to their food intake.
