Tang powder drinks are now more expensive by P6
Tang just gave Filipinos something to curse about.
The popular powdered-beverage firm said it hiked the suggested retail price of all its Tang Litro packs to P16.45, blaming the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law for the increase.
Under the TRAIN law, drinks with high fructose corn syrup in its mix is taxed P12 per liter while ready-to-drink or powder form beverages containing caloric and non-caloric sugar or a mixture of both is levied P6 per liter.
“We assure consumers that this price reflects Tang’s adherence to government regulations while ensuring that our products continue to be of the best quality and accessible to our consumers,” Tang’s statement said.
Tang also said it remains committed to “providing refreshment with the best value for money” through its products.
