US launches first autonomous drink-serving robot
A California-based artificial intelligence company has unveiled the world’s first fully-autonomous robotic station that serves blended drinks.
Tech startup 6d bytes recently launched its so-called Blendid™ station which offers a wide selection of drinks with fresh ingredients such as mango, spinach, blueberry, coconut water, kefir, banana and ginger. All this, without any human intervention.
Instead, mobile apps or tablets are used at the station to browse through the menu, pick and customize the drink’s ingredient content based on customers’ preference.
Payments are also made through the robot which prepares and serves your order in less than two minutes.
The Blendid station is housed in the business center of Plug and Play, a startup accelerator in Sunnyvale, California.
The technology is marketed to food service operators and retail franchises. It is specially designed for health-conscious people to maintain their lifestyle amid a busy schedule.
