The Aboitiz Group, through food business unit Pilmico and the Aboitiz Foundation, is targeting to build ifs first ever state-of-the-art livestock research & development facility worth P10 million by August of this year.
The facility, according to the firm, will be dedicated to the manufacture of high-quality swine, poultry, and aquaculture.
The livestock training complex, which will be completed in August 2018, will be located within the Central Mindanao University (CMU) compound and will be managed by CMU’s University Income Generation Program.
It will house a training center, research and development hubs, and fully-equipped laboratories where students, specialists, and backyard farmers may immerse and train in the actual production of high-quality swine, poultry, and aquaculture.
“The livestock training complex will provide a venue for knowledge-sharing, research and development, and innovation. A modern facility complete with the latest tools and technologies on swine genetics, animal nutrition, artificial insemination and farm management, which the whole community can benefit from,” said Pilmico Assistant Vice President for Feeds-Sales in Mindanao Jefferson Abian.
