DAR distributes land titles to farmers in Davao del Norte
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently distributed certificates of land ownership award to five agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Kapalong, Davao del Norte.
Before the awarding, these ARBs had to face life-threatening oppositions from the former landowner of the properties where they are farming as well from a multinational company who held on their land despite being already covered by the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) way back in 2013.
The distribution of the five CLOAs was held in a simple and peaceful ceremony attended by regional and local representatives of the DAR, headed by Jocelyn Seno of DAR Davao del Norte.
In her message, Seno imparted the obligations of an agrarian reform beneficiary especially on the regular payment of taxes and land amortizations.
She also challenged the ARBs to work collectively and double the produce generated from their banana farms even if the land was distributed and awarded in an individual manner.
Seno also expressed her gratitude and lauded the ARBs for their resilience and not resorting to devious means despite the stumbling blocks they encountered that delayed their installation for so many years.
