Makers of sili ice cream makes a Masbate candy inspired flavor
Makers of sili and pili ice cream gave a sneak peak of yet another flavor that will surely be a hit to ice cream lovers at the International Food Exhibition at the World Trade Center.
Restaurateurs and ice cream makers, Elmer and Rowena Aspe, graced the third day of the exhibition with their latest creation: the Caramelado ice cream, inspired by Masbate’s famous sweet milk candy.
According to a report from GMA News, the caramelado will cost P33 a scoop, P65 a cup and P99 for three scoops. This new flavor is yet to be launched at 1st Colonial Grill, the home of sili and pili ice cream in Legazpi; which will soon open its first Manila location at NAIA Terminal 3.
Caramelado is made with curd from carabao’s milk. It is comparable pastillas, and a most requested pasalubong item from Masbate, the Cattle Capital of the Philippines.
