Netizen blasts Erwan for his involvement in controversial ‘Buhay Carinderia’ project

A netizen blasted food vlogger Erwan Heusaff for promoting a questionable food program that recently put Tourism Promotions Board (TBP) chief Cesar Montano in hot water.

On Thursday, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat ordered the suspension of the controversial “Buhay Carinderia” program of TPB, a bureau under the Department of Tourism (DOT) led by actor Cesar Montano.

This, after Montano allegedly already paid in full the organizers of the event even if the project is not finished. The payment stoond around P80 million.

The marketing organization behind the project is Marylindbert International Inc.

The news has triggered a certain Katrina Stuart Santiago to blast Erwan on Twitter for accepting payments for the controversial project.

Katrina, which uses a Twitter username @radikalchick, described herself as an independent writer.

“So apparently Cesar Montano’s P80-Million Buhay Carinderia project includes getting Erwan Heussaff to promote that “carinderia lifestyle”. Didn’t realize that Heusaff now lives off existing in the side streets and palengke, working long hours, suffering the hike prices,” Katrina said.

“How much did they pay Erwan? How many thousands of carinderia owners do not get a cent from government, but are now going to be used by this project,” she added.

According to her, Erwan “should have known better” before joining the project.

“Erwan should looked at his influencer paycheck and thought “Hmmm, how many manongs and manangs families would this feed, if the money actually went to carinderia owners,” Katrina said.

“He shouldn’t be earning in the name of these small business owners who are bound to not get anything at all from Buhay Carinderia,” she added.

Another Twitter user called Marybee agreed with Katrina and replied to one of her tweets.

“Apparently, the food guy is not good with brains, just the tummy. And the tummy is not known to think,” Marybee said.
