New Starbucks policy lets you stay in their cafes even without buying anything
With its new policy, Starbucks should consider you a customer once you enter any of its store, even if you don’t buy anything.
Associated Press reported that Starbucks’ new policy now allows anyone to sit in their cafes or use their restrooms regardless of whether they make a purchase.
This came more than a month since the ‘racist move’ of one its branches in Philadelphia to have two black men arrested for not ordering a drink.
The incidence was caught in a video that later on became viral in the social media.
The video shows two black men being arrested while they were waiting for a friend. It particularly showed several uniformed police officers questioning the two men and eventually handcuffed them.
As a response to the incident, Starbucks said it has told workers to consider anyone who walks into its stores a customer.
“We are committed to creating a culture of warmth and belonging where everyone is welcome,” Starbucks said in a statement.
But the company also told its workers to still call the police if someone is a safety threat.
